Iku Wholefood

Iku wholefoods is the perfect place to pick up an amazing, healthy, vegetarian or vegan meal. Since becoming a vegetarian it has been hard to find tasty food at restaurants and in food courts. I used to love sushi but there aren't many options without meat or fish, so when I became sick of avocado or cucumber sushi I was pleased to find Iku wholefoods at uni. It quickly became my favourite shop in the food court as they make such tasty snacks, lunches and amazingly delicious but healthy desserts as well. With the motto eat well be well it's clear Iku is passionate about fueling the body with healthy whole foods. They have so many amazing dishes and snacks, but I've pinned down a few that I have gone back for multiple times. I am going to start with the small treats that are always available because I love almost every one of them. My favourite treat is the black rice pudding topped with a creamy coconut jelly, it's the perfect healthy sweet treat especially if you like rice puddings.
Treat selection
The cocoa and vanilla friand's are the best little naughty tasting healthy treats made with only almond meal, rice flour, silken tofu, maple syrup, sunflower oil and vanilla extract or cocoa. The marabba is also great if you feel like something nutty, this hard and crumbly bite sized triangle is unique with it's pistachio and rose water combination. If you're feeling fruity then the bancha slice is perfect with it's apple, fig, orange, sultana and raisin combination. The beautiful bancha tea infusion and use of cinnamon gives it an interesting flavour that is reminiscent of fruit mince pies.
Spinach & White Miso Tart
My favourite special would have to be the spinach and white miso tart closely followed by the caramelized onion and rest of the specials. The lasangnes and pies on offer are all amazing and flavourful with the tomato and vegetable lasagne and three mushroom pie being my go to's.

All of the healthy salad options are amazing and you can choose three different ones for a small container. The bean salad is simple and tasty with navy and green beans in a rosemary, garlic and dijon mustard coating. I will often get the beans, the blanch and the roast veg and chickpea which has an amazing paprika, garlic and preserved lemon sauce.
Salads
Iku also makes amazing curries, casseroles and breakfast options including oat porridge, muesli, and granola so go check it out!
